Thursday Menu

I’ll be posting recipes for tonight’s dinner this afternoon.

Breakfast-Mixed fruit and yogurt with cinnamon raisin english muffin

Lunch-Jelly sandwich with Sliced green peppers and string cheese

Dinner- Pepperoni Pasta Salad and Cheesy Breadsticks

Wednesday Menu

Breakfast-Strawberry vanilla pancakes and yogurt mixed in with fruit

Lunch-Grilled cheese sandwich with a salad

Dinner-Meatloaf sandwiches from the meatloaf made yesterday with rest of cheesy au gratin potatoes

Tuesday’s Menu(1st recipe Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes)

Today’s Menu is as follows

Breakfast-Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes served with Bacon

Lunch-Grape Jelly Sandwich with Cut up Orange and a string cheese

Dinner-BBQ Meatloaf  served with Cheesy Au Gratin potatoes

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup buttermilk

1 egg

1 tablespoon canola oil

2 tablespoons vanilla extract

2 cups sliced strawberries

1-2 teaspoons sugar

 

1) In a small bowl mix strawberries with sugar. In a large bowl whisk together flour,brown sugar and baking powder. Then whisk in buttermilk,egg,oil and vanilla till combined.Fold in strawberries.

2) Heat pan to medium heat melt about 1 tablespoon butter on pan.Cook till bubbles appear on one side and flip and cook other side.

 

 

A Well Stocked Pantry

I believe it’s vital to have a well stocked pantry. Ingredients you will find that you will use often in cooking. When you first buy them it can seem like you are spending a lot of money but in the long run it really does save you alot .Having ingredients like this kept stored mean that when you are doing your weekly planning of what to eat you have to buy a limited amount of ingredients.These are some things I always keep stocked in my pantry .

Garlic salt and Garlic Powder

Onion Powder

Cinnamon

Soy Sauce

Paprika

Salt and Pepper

Chili Powder and Cayenne Pepper

Vegetable oil and Olive oil

Nonstick cooking spray

Italian seasoning

Regular granulated sugar, Brown sugar and Confectioners sugar

Cornstarch

Lawry’s Seasoned Salt

Dried basil and Dried parsley flakes

Vanilla extract

Baking Powder and Baking Soda

Parmesan cheese

Worcestershire sauce

Chicken stock or broth

Sriracha hot chili sauce

Seasoned bread crumbs

Balsamic vinegar

Flour

Any kind of rice and pasta

These are just a few things I find I commonly use in my recipes. Alot of the things listed above I can usually find at my local Walmart and if I can’t find it there I can locate them at my local grocery store.
